Medical & Support Services

Speech, language and communication impairments encompass a spectrum of challenges and impact individuals in different ways.  Moreover our children and young people may have difficulties that extend beyond primary speech, language and communication impairments.  No two children and young people are the same and our comprehensive medical and support services reflect this.

Our medical team work very closely with the care, teaching and therapy teams.  We have two nurses within the St Catherine’s centre and our medical officer is a local GP.  The services of a local dentist, optician and CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service) are available.  In addition to this wealth of experience we access support from, and work closely with, key agencies as appropriate for our learners needs.

Our kitchens are run by a manager/chef who leads the catering team to produce delicious home cooked dishes, many inspired by Jamie Oliver’s Healthy Eating Scheme.

In addition the catering team work in partnership with a nutritionist to ensure all our children and young people receive their recommended daily requirements.

Our catering team cater for all dietary requirements.
