Pretty Things Rock Out for St Catherine's
16/01/2010
On Saturday 16 January, rock legends the Pretty Things played a charity gig for St Catherine’s at Ventnor Winter Gardens. With support from the Malchicks, Amen Boogie Blues Band and DJ Kaf Tan, the amazing rock and blues line up played to a fantastic turn out of local fans.

Following The Malchicks opening act, local band Amen Boogie Blues whipped up a real treat of a blues storm, with DJ Kaf-Tan keeping the whole evening flowing with an excellent choice of vinyls from the era, all in all it was a fun way to raise money for St Catherine’s.
Dick Taylor, lead guitarist and co-founder of the Pretty Things is also guitar teacher at St Catherine’s, where the children and young people feel very privileged to have their own celebrity guitar teacher. Dick, who is a fantastic ambassador for St Catherine’s, encourages the young people he teaches to use music as a communication tool. With the charity gig all Dick’s idea, a big thanks must go to him for approaching his band mates and encouraging them to support St Catherine’s.

The gig, which raised in excess of £1200, was a great example of organisations working together to raise much needed funds for St Catherine’s, whilst putting on an evening of fantastic music. Thanks to all those involved.
