St Catherine's Great South Run Team
01/11/2011
Eight St Catherine’s supporters braved the wind and rain on Sunday to take part in the Great South Run in aid of children and young people with communication impairments.
The team were among the 24,000 runners who took part in the race. The 10 mile race took competitors passed some of Portsmouth’s most famous sites including HMS Victory.
Nicola Amy, a runner from the St Catherine’s team said, “It was amazing running with so many people. The atmosphere was brilliant with supporters lining the route and cheering us on. I really enjoyed taking part and had a great sense achievement completing the race”.
The money raised from sponsorship will support children and young people with communication impairments who attend St Catherine’s in Ventnor. The charity has places available for a number of events throughout the year including the London 10k and the Brighton Marathon. The charity also has sky diving opportunities.
