Oscar winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes hosted his second reception for St Catherine’s in London on 13 July.

Julian, who is also an acclaimed actor and director, spoke about the importance of speech & communication in our lives and the challenges children with communication disabilities face every single day. Julian also introduced Matt; a learner from St Catherine’s who spoke to invited guests about his experiences at the school and further education centre and his plans for the future.

In an open and question answer session Alex, a learner from St Catherine’s asked Julian where he kept his Oscar (in the library), while guests also learnt what it was like to be in a James Bond film.

Susan Graves, Development Officer explained “We are so very lucky to have Julian host a second reception for us. He is such an eloquent speaker and has been so supportive of St Catherine’s, helping us to raise awareness of speech, communication and language impairments. We cannot thank him enough!”
