St Catherine's is Sainsbury's charity of the year
23/06/2009
Following a ten minute presentation by Kelly Burke and Aimee Steward, Sainsbury’s charity committee for their Newport store chose St Catherine’s as their charity of the year. The committee might well have been swayed by the wooden key rings, made by Worx participants, presented to them by Kelly to thank them for listening.
Tanya Blake, Sainsbury’s PR Ambassador, explained “we really wanted to get involved with a charity that makes a difference to the lives of children and young people- we really feel that St Catherine’s achieves this. We are already planning our own fundraising events and can’t wait to get both colleagues and customers involved.”
As Aimee Steward went onto explain “We have already been blown away by Sainsbury’s enthusiasm from hourly announcements over the tanoy, to posters up around the store. A number of brave souls have even signed up for a sponsored skydive!”
A big thank you to all of you that nominated St Catherine’s.
