Natwest visits St Catherine's

On Thursday 11th July, Hemingway and Bronte classes were joined by some volunteers from the NatWest Bank as part of their MoneySense programme and were given the opportunity to solve a crime related to a fictional fraud that had taken place.

Students showed some impressive sleuthing skills when looking at each piece of evidence and were supported by the NatWest team and some of the school staff to think
about some of the less obvious pieces of evidence. They then all made their decisions as to how they thought it had happened and made some suggestions as to how they could avoid being the victims of a fraud.

Following the workshop they were all given the opportunity to explore the Isle of Wight Natwest Bus 'Bertie' and to think about the way that some banks have now changed and how they provide their banking services using things such as mobile branches as there are now many fewer branches.

A great effort by both classes -  well done!
