St Catherine's
We're unique in so many ways, and we hope you’ll use this website to start to understand just how we may be able to support your child.
St Catherine’s is the only day and residential education and therapy provider in the UK that specialises in working with young people with speech, language and communications needs aged 9 to 25.
We understand these young people, the challenges and struggles they have often faced.
We understand their parents and families too – parents who have fought tooth and nail to find the right support for their child.
All in all, we aim to support your child, whether they are in class or in extracurricular activities, just as you would wish to yourself.
Here’s just a few of the highlights …
- St Catherine’s supports young people from age 9 to 25, via our School (9-16), College (16-19) and Post 19 provision (19-25).
- We provide an integrated programme of support for each student combining speech and language therapy and occupational therapy.
- Whilst academic programmes are important, our core values are all about building Resilience; Courage; Respect and Ambition in our students, delivered via our highly personalised learning programmes.
- Our ‘close to town’, coastal location provides us with an extraordinarily rich learning environment, which we use as our ‘second classroom’. Trips into town to try out public transport; surf school; forest school and so forth.
Take a look below at how this works in practice across each of our three core programmes.
“St Catherine's have been nothing short of miracle workers, with their innate, highly skilled understanding of neurodiversity and speech and language issues, they have created a setting where our child is allowed to be himself ... if this is what has been accomplished in two and half terms, we are so excited by what is now possible for him in his future with the school and beyond into adulthood.” Parent
